Just wanted to let you know that the four major credit bureaus in the US will be allowed, starting July 1, to release your credit info, mailing addresses, phone numbers, etc., to anyone who requests it. If you would like to 'opt out' of this release of your info, you can call 1-888-5-OPTOUT (67.8688).

Picnic on Pelican Island -- Do you know about Pelican Island at Pelican Harbor? Pelican Island, just over 400 yards offshore from the Pelican Harbor Marina, is like a large private picnic pavilion. Two enormous "chickees," or open huts with specially thatched roofs can seat 100 people each at their built-in tables and benches. Eighteen barbecue grills are scattered over the 10-acre island, with 40 picnic tables and three smaller chickees. There are horseshoe pits and a sand volleyball court, and the entire site is planted with native vegetation and flowering plants. For more information call Pelican Island (305) 754-9330 or log on at http://www.co.miamidade.fl.us/parks/Parks/pelican_harbor.htm.

If you enjoy diving, check out Miami-Dade's artificial reef locator -- In order to protect our natural reefs from the stress of excessive human interaction while encouraging recreational fishing and sport diving in coastal waters, "artificial" reefs are created out of a wide array of objects ranging from steel hulled ships, to army tanks, to commercial aircraft, to specially designed reef "modules." On Miami-Dade's website, residents can search and map reefs, request reef news and feedback and check weather conditions for those weekend getaways! http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/derm/reefs/
