July 14th 8:00 pm: A Piano Concert by Roswitha Lohmer will be held at the KB Community Center in the Island Room on the second floor. You are invited by the Consul General of Germany, Eva Alexandra Countess Kendeffy, to enjoy a classical piano recital by Roswitha Lohmer. The Village of Key Biscayne and the Sonesta Beach resort are also sponsoring this event, so admission is free. Roswitha is currently on tour in Miami and will play recitals and Piano Concertos in Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. The program will be a mixture of Mozart, Beethovan, Brahms and Schubert. July 16 and 17 Harry Potter Weekend: In commemoration of the release of the sixth book in the J.K. Rowling's best selling series Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Miami Seaquarium partners with Books & Books and invites Harry Potter fans across South Florida to return to Hogwarts and celebrate Rowling's latest release at the park. Guests who bring in any Harry Potter book or wear Harry Potter costume to the park throughout the weekend will receive a 50 percent discount on the price of regular admission. Friday, July 15th 6 – 8pm: Conserve Seagrass Critters & Interactive Storytelling by Romi Ferrari of Bonehead the Red Beeagelgiller. There's sea life of all shapes and sizes living in the seagrass right outside our doors. From seahorses to sea urchins, pipefish to starfish, the varieties of sea life is amazing. Come and learn from your naturalist guide, as they will identify each species, making sure everyone gets a good look and feel for the animals, only if your hands are bug spray-free and clean. These seagrass beds are a rich ecosystem, so this is your opportunity to appreciate the diversity found in these aquatic grasses. Also, prepare yourself and your kids for the future by meeting and listening to Romi Ferrari read her very own composed book called One Day at a Time by Bonehead the Red Beeagelgiller, teaching about major future changes going from the End of the Fossil Fuel to the Age of Nanotechnology. Familiarize yourself with the word and concept of Nanotechnology, use a magnifying glass, compound and light microscope, etc. Understand the tiniest concepts discovered recently by scientists!
