Keep an eye out for Key Biscayne Magazine's March Sports Issue:
I would've liked to start this off by saying that I'd just played two hours of tennis, swum ten laps in the pool and finished with a yoga class - I wish it were true!
I know those days when I've spent even an hour at some kind of sport I feel fabulous. My "sporty" friends have a glow about them that doesn't come out of a jar of cream. Maybe it's the endorphins. One thing is for sure - the vitality that we gain from exercise is beyond physical.
With the arrival of the NASDAQ-100 Open (why don't sponsors have more eloquent names?) all eyes will be on the courts and tennis star Maria Sharapova, featured on our cover. With talent, youth and beauty, it's easy to see why she is such a favorite, even in a field chocked with tanned bodies, white shorts and strong serves. Read our cover story to find out what some of her favorites are.
Key Biscayners love the outdoors. The island is a hub for so many sports that you can't help but want to get out there and be active. This edition features a few of the sports and our exemplary athletes. There are far too many of both to include in one issue, but the taste offered here will hopefully motivate you to get even more active.
As for me - I've got to go and find that tennis racket...
