The Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Center is the glue that holds the island's business community together.
The Chamber receives an average of 15 phone calls and 20 e-mails a day asking everything from ‘Which doctors practice on the Key?’ to ‘Do you have a phone number for a plumber?’ to ‘What tourist activities are there to do on the island.’ Only Chamber members are referred to callers.
Members are listed on a business directory with a FREE hotlink to their website and e-mail address. The website gets approximately 800 hits per week, generating monthly requests of more than 45 Tourism or Relocation Packages around the United States and abroad. Included in these packages is a copy of our Island Life Magazine, The Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center official business directory. Of course, as a Chamber member, a listing in this magazine is FREE. Members can post announcements, promotions, or events on the bimonthly electronic newsletter, "Key Commerce," which boasts a readership of approximately 800 subscribers.
The Chamber actively promotes business with advertising campaigns stressing "There's no place like home to do your shopping - It's all here in your hometown: Key Biscayne."
Seminar Series, meetings, Networkers and Business Cards Exchanges are held throughout the year. The Chamber encourages members to attend these events, as we believe that our members get out of the Chamber as much as they put in!
Part of the vision of our current president Shayna Varkas, has been to expand the Chamber of Commerce to also make it a Visitor Information Center. To accomplish this goal, we have renovated our office to include an exclusive area that offers information on Chamber members and Key Biscayne in general. As a member, we welcome you to leave your brochures or business cards in the Visitor Information Center at no cost to you. This is just another way for the Chamber to promote our members!
REAL ESTATE - From humble beginnings of an island community of $9,000 homes purchased mainly by veterans returning from the World War II, Key Biscayne has blossomed into one of the premier real estate capitals of Miami-Dade County. Real estate offices dot the island, staffed with local professionals dedicated to helping people buy and sell homes and condominiums on the Island Paradise.
