Newly elected Board of Directors for 2013
The following Slate of Nominees were ratified in the Board of Directors meeting on September 20, 2012 to serve a two year term of office.

The Nominating Committee is composed of Chair Reina Gonzalez, with members Diego Betancourt, Nora Camejo, Karen Llorente, Nancye Ray and incoming Chair of the Board of Directors, Gabriel Chavarria. The Committee sent four emails to the membership seeking nominees. The qualifications of those nominated were evaluated by the Committee and nominees were interviewed for final selection. We encourage all to respond when we begin "Seeking Leaders" for 2014, with the knowledge that involvement in Chamber activities and committees greatly increase your opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce. Our Chamber members are invited and welcome at any Board meeting with the dates posted on our on-line calendar at www.keybiscaynechamber.org.
Please find below a short biography of the 4 newly elected Directors.
Fernando Arciniega was born in Bogota, Colombia and has been living in South Florida for the past 34 years. He is a graduate of St. Thomas University in Miami where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling.
Fernando is Co-Founder and Vice President of Arsi Care Group, a company that specializes in homecare services for the elderly, infant and childcare at Miami’s top 5 star hotels, and executive care for multi-national companies, since 1997. His participation in the company since its inception has covered all activities related to advertising, operations, and planning.
Fernando has always been actively involved in programs to help the community, both locally and in Colombia. As a member of the Colombian Committee in Broward County he assisted families in need after natural disasters. For the past 10 years, he has also been actively involved in a non-profit organization called Manos del Sur, an organization that works to improve the quality of life of children in South America, where he has served as Director of the Colombia project. He is also an standing member of the Southern Florida Concierge Association.
Other community programs where Fernando has actively participated in the past include the Hispanic Community Group, Daily Bread Food Bank, Alliance for Aging, Coalition on Hispanic Aging, Florida Council on Aging, Catholic Hospice, South Florida Case Management, among others.
For the past year, Fernando has been a member of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce. During this short period Fernando has been able to see all that can be done for the community of Key Biscayne. His experience with the Chamber has inspired him to have a more active participation within the Chamber of Commerce where he can contribute his knowledge and experience towards the benefit of the community of Key Biscayne.
Nora Camejo was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She has been a Key Biscayne resident since 1987 where she lives with her husband Antonio, daughter Tatyana, and son Diego.
With over 24 years of experience in graphic design with a Bachelor of Arts from University of Miami, she has been working as a professional freelance graphic designer for many Key Biscayne realtors and other professionals. She is perhaps best known for helping the Lions Club turn its Personal & Business Directory over the years into one of the most widely used directory on the Island. In addition, you can see her work in many of the ads in The Islander News, Island Life Magazine and Key Biscayne Magazine. Nora can help you with all your graphic design needs such as, brochures, menus, magazines, logos, stationery and business cards, including website design, e-flyers and e-brochures. She brings her design expertise, as well as, a thorough understanding of how to best communicate your ideas or product to the public.
Nora has been a member of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years,and has been involved since the beginning, participating in the first Marketing Committees, and attending most chamber events, business cards exchanges, network luncheons, and more. She has designed all the advertising material for the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce Home Tour and the banners for the new website.
She is a member of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, where she serves in the Marketing Committee,helping redesign the Key Cue, website, and different advertising pieces.
“Cindy” Mize is the President, co-owner and Managing Broker of Miami Capital Properties, a full-service real estate firm in Key Biscayne, Florida.
Ms. Mize has over 28 years of marketing and management experience in the technology industry and is considered one of the “Founding Mothers” of the Personal Computer open platform concept.
After completing an Electronic Engineer course study at Memphis State University, Ms. Mize started her career in the personal computer business in 1983, founding Cyma Software, which was the first “off-the-shelf” integrated accounting software applications for Personal Computers. This company was sold to McGraw-Hill publishing in 1985.
Her second venture was as a founder of one of the first PC add-on peripheral companies, Plus Development. The innovative sales and distribution strategy, of which Mize was a contributor, earned the Company numerous business-case studies at Harvard University. The Quantum Corporation purchased Plus Development in 1989.
In 1990, Ms. Mize went to the Intel Corporation where she managed Latin America Distribution; Sales and Marketing Group. Cindy retired from Intel in 2004. Ms. Mize is bi-lingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
Cindy is a Past President of the Key Biscayne American Legion Auxiliary, former V.P. of the Key Biscayne Republican Club, and is a member of the Key Biscayne Woman’s Club. She recently completed a 2-year term as a Trustee of the Key Biscayne Police and Fire Pension Board and was a Trustee of The Kampong National Botanical Garden.
She is a member of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, The Key Biscayne Historical and Heritage Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, The Miami Woman’s Club, Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church and other civic and service organizations in Miami-Dade County. Cindy is married to Walter Caridad of Key Biscayne, Florida, and in her spare time, she runs marathons.
Paola Padovan has been a resident of Key Biscayne since the age of eight years old. She was born in Uruguay, South America but grew up on the Island, attending both Key Biscayne Elementary and St. Agnes Academy. She went to Ransom Everglades High School and then New York University, where she received a BFA. After living and working in Real Estate in Manhattan for eight years, she returned to her beloved Key Biscayne to continue the family Real Estate business. She has been a Broker on Key Biscayne for over twenty-one years and is currently a Broker-Associate at Ocean Club Realty, working with a variety of International clientele promoting Key Biscayne. She speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and some Portuguese.
Paola is married to Donnie Hall, Jr. and has two children, Mikey and Carolina. She is active within the community as the Chair of the Welcome New Members Committee at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club and is involved in the Island Angels, the Biscayne Nature Center and IPads for Soldiers.
One of Paola’s passions is Social Media. She is proud to be on the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce’s panel that presents information about different aspects of Social Media every other month. As a member of the Board of Directors, Paola would contribute her sales, International communication and social media skills. She is passionate about promoting business on the Key and is committed to keeping Key Biscayne the Island Paradise that it is to both work and live in.
