Many turtles lay their eggs on the beaches of Key Biscayne, beginning in August or September.
The nests are cordoned off by stakes and yellow tape to protect them from one end of the island to the other. In Crandon Park, the Visitors Center/ Eco Adventures holds an educational Turtle program with an Environmentalist that allows you to get up close and personal with these lovely hatchlings. There are a limited number of guests so reservations are a must- (305) 361-6767 ext. 112.
